The Chief of Staff of the Army (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, said on Wednesday that a well-equipped, trained and motivated army, with the unwavering support of its people, could overcome any what a challenge.
He, while addressing participants from the National Defense University (NDU) Course on National Security and War (NSWC) – 21, stressed that the forces wishing to undermine the indissoluble bond between the armed forces and the nation were doomed to failure, according to an ISPR press release.
The head of the army expanded on the evolution of the strategic and regional environment.
“Pakistan stands up for peace inside and around, as it hopes to serve as a bridge between regions,” said SFOC.
Explaining Pakistan’s support for the Afghan peace process, he said that the saboteurs of peace in Afghanistan risked causing regional instability.
Expressing its strong support for the Indian people of illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, SFOC insisted on a peaceful and lasting solution to the Kashmir issue in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Sharing his vision of the Pakistani military, he stressed the need for continuous assessment of existing doctrine and corresponding strategy to effectively deal with evolving threats in various fields.
He called the professionalism, skill and dedication to duty a hallmark of the Pakistani military and emphasized realistic and futuristic training to maintain perpetual readiness.
